On his Confederate pension application, Alldredge claimed he enlisted as a Private in Gilbert’s Company and then scouted for Bell’s Brigade at Columbus, Mississippi on 1 Apr 1864; later belonged to Beauford’s Brigade of Alabama Independent Scouts attached to N.B. Forrest’s Cavalry; received a gunshot wound to the left thigh at Brice’s Cross Roads, Mississippi; surrendered at Gainesville, Alabama 1 May 1865; application witnesses included D.L. Alldredge, J.A. Alldredge, and Mary E. Allred, all of Cullman County; lived near Addison in Winston County in 1897; pension was approved.

On her Confederate widow’s pension application, Sarah Alldredge reported her husband died 4 Dec 1906; application witnesses included W.A. Waid and William E. Anderson, both of Cullman County; pension was approved.

Taylor W. Alldredge’s monument in the Emeus Cemetery in Cullman County was inscribed with the dates 1847 – 1906; however the inscription reads “Burial Place Unknown.”
