James Marion Reeves b. 1823 is the one I feel is my ancestor. His wife died later the same day he left for war. The individual James M. Reeves whom I believe to be a first cousin to James Marion was working on a farm for a female head of household , Emly Spratling in the 1850 census. There was no indication that James M. Reeves b. 1826 was married.
If neither was married at the time of enlistment either widowed or single and never married would anyone be able to file for a pension? I just have not studied about that.

I am reviewing my writing and charts to try to lead me to new understanding. Do I need a password? Thank you so much for your help and guidance. Tommie Reeves Smith
