Assistant Surgeon W.F. Richardson

I am interested in gathering background information on Dr. W.F. Richardson who was an assistant surgeon at Camp Letterman near Gettysburg. Documentation exists of his surgical procedures at Camp Letterman and in Richmond. I believe that he is identical with W.F. Richardson who volunteered with the 1st Texas Infantry as a private at Galveston,Tx and later appointed as Assistant Surgeon since he was a licensed physician. I am curious how he ended up at Letterman Hospital, was he taken prisoner, if so where? Also interested if he survived the War.
