Re: An interesting cross over on Alabama CMSR's

Dennis - I can only imagine why someone would type in Bluck without double checking. Bluck?? Must have been at the end of a long day. Still not quite as bad as another one I came across. While looking up my dad and his family in the 1940 census in Beat 3 of Lee County, Mississippi, I decided to see if I could find another family that I was pretty sure lived in the same beat. Sure enough, I found the family of one Vernon Presley (misspelled Pressley by the census taker). He was listed with his wife Gladys and a 5 year old son. Below the son's name was a neighbor named Oddie Austin. The transcriber, after what I imagine was a bit less than thorough study of the listing, decided that the two loops formed by the "d"s in Oddie's name were actually part of Vernon's and Gladys's little boy's name. Yep, as far as ancestry.com is concerned, the future King of Rock 'n Roll was named Elzjs Pressley!!
