Actually, the answer as to why the Blacks do not show up on the 1860 census on ancestry.com when you type in their name does not require a very long explanation at all. Simple answer is that there was a transcription error. The ancestry transcriber listed the name as Bluck. I have submitted a correction on the web-site so that, after they approve and implement, a search for John Black will then show the family.
