The entry on the July & August, 1862 muster roll of his enlistment on October 25, 1862 is incorrect and should be October 1861 as this roll also shows he was last paid February 28, 1862. Note also the September/October, 1862 muster report which shows enlistment as October 25, 1861. Last paid August 31, 1862.

It also does not seem likely that having been discharged for disability in May at age 46, that he would subsequently re-enlist. For one, he’s now over the age of conscription.

I wonder if their are any POW records for Camp Chase which might show his age?
