First of all thanks to Miles Krisman and George Martin for responding to my questions about Rodes at Chancellorsville. Bruce Catton wrote that during the long winter after the battle of Fredericksburg both armies were camped on opposite sides of the Rappahannock and one evening massed Union bands came down to the riverbank and played all the popular songs of both armies while thousands of soldiers from both sides listened and sang along. Any date for this event? Perhaps there were many such concerts? Thanks Bill Haynes
