Hi: This is a question on the quote by the 5th Alabama soldiere re: a group of men coming by with some Federal prisoners after the cannonade at Chancellorsville. I have been told that the men of the 5th NC rounded up prisoners of the 153rd PA who were taken to Libby. It is my understanding that it was the 5th NC infantry. I am trying to find out if the 5th NC Cav. also was involved. According to the Civil War database, the 5th Cav was part of the Army of Northern Virginia at that time, and had at least one casualty at Chancellorsville, yet most data online indicate the 5th NC Cav was not there. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Joanne
