I'm working on project about German-born immigrants in Florida during the Civil War. Through the NPS database, I can trace several men living in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to "Hert's Company, Alabama Militia." Does anyone have any information about this Hert's Co. (when organized, where served, etc.)? I can't find much of anything about this unit.
