These are the only two James Pulliam I find in Alabama units.

James Pulliam, Private, Company K, 9th Regiment Alabama Infantry, died at Bull Run August 7, 1861, Rubeola [measles], no other information

James L. Pulliam, age 17, Private, Capt. Gulley's Company,* enlisted April 20, 1862 at Livingston**/Mobile, Ala., by W. A.C. Jones for 3 years or the war, appointed Musician about Sept. 21, 1862, captured at Big Shanty, Ga. June 15, 1864, sent to Rock Island Barracks, Ilinois prison June 22, enlisted in the U. S. Army for frontier service, October 14, 1864, no other information

* This company subsequently became Company A, 40th Regiment Alabama Infantry
