I really do think that this will be my final post. This discussion has become tedious, wearisome and argumentative.
You continue to assert that a schoolteacher's memory of his students is tantamount to a Civil War Regimental Commander's memory of his soldiers, and you continue to insist that the memory of a soldier facing death 24/7 can be compared to that of a student facing attendance and exams. The gulf between us, then, is just too wide to permit interesting and rational discourse.
I admire the scholarship and gentlemanly manner, but I cannot abide the mind-set. I bid you farewell and I hope that good fortune attends your path.
