Bad information. For what ever the reason dates and info were confused.

His original marker was hand made by his son and his grandson. I had heard about it for years and my son and I went looking for it. When we found it it { long story} it was in such bad shape that I had a new one made out of respect for my grandmother.

My cousin that lives in that area is very involved in the United Daughters of the Confederacy and she had a special ceremony for him that was very impressive. The new marker was made at that time and the mistakes were made. He now has 3 markers!

I have his death certificate and other paper on his service etc. I will be happy to scan them to you if you are interested.

You have never said why you have been involved in his search. He has been my mystery man. My grandmother told me that he was a sheriff in Arkansas and that is where she was born. I find him in his 30's in Arkansas but he is listed as a farmer. My search goes on even though the computer and I are not the best of friends.

I look forward to hearing back from you. Jean
