The right place to look will always be a soldier's military service file. Several months after being wounded at Frayser's Farm (after he returned to duty), Cox received a discharge based on being under the age of eighteen. Evidently he returned home, and sometime after turning eighteen, enrolled in another company from Chambers County, Co. "A", 10th Confederate Cavalry. Enlistment date is Sept. 1, 1863. He is present for duty through the last roll on record, dated June 30, 1864. No later record.
