There is one man named McDiarmid in the 5th Alabama Infantry Regiment. Can anyone confirm his first name?

According to G. Ward Hubbs ("Voices from Company D") his name was Joel Calvin McDiarmid.

There is a reference on the Clay County, Alabama, Genweb site that lists him as Joseph Calvin McDiarmid.

Finally, in his Compiled Service Record, there is one card that appears to show him as Jas (=James), could be Jos (=Joseph), but it is too faint to be sure.

Any help would be appreciated.
