from the georgia soc. quarterly summer issue 1978 list of con. dead marietta con. cem. sec. one has the soldiers listed from#1 to #428 all died 1863-1864,(have wm wadsworth listed #423 pvt. died jan. 20, 1864) next section 2 #429 to # 535, 1863-1864 next sec. three # 536 to #628 1864 over one half of sec. three are unknown soldiers. i visited the cem. last wk.the way the cem. now lists the soldiers are by state. section as ala., ga. ms. have the #dead listed w the small white head stones w no names. they have a wall out side of the cem. have the con. states listed w the names of the dead listed under each state and what reg. and co. they were in. they have wm wadswoth listed as in the 50th ala. infantry co. h. two william wadsworths were in al. 30th co h from st. clair. one was william walker wadsworth. he did not die in the war. came back to st. clair co. al. i have both of their service records. when they were paroled at vicksburg, miss. july 8, 1863. wm. walker signed his as walker wadsworth and william m wadsworth signed his as wm wadsworth.what i would like to know are the soldiers from #1 to #628. is in that the order they were buried? where is section one in the cem. at the time of the burials?
