The person is my gg-uncle, John F. Burk or Burke. He was a member of the 26th TN, which became the 1st Confederate Infantry, GA Volunteers, 2nd Battalion. He was in the hospital in Montgomery after his exchange at Vicksburg. John was captured at Ft. Donelson. He disappeared from the rolls after Aug of 63. John never returned home and I am trying to solve what happened to him. One family source said he died in Montgomery in 1865, but I question how reliable the info is.
