Re: 22nd Alabama Infantry's Enfield rifles

I am not exactly sure on the date but I have some circumstantial evidence that may help.

On Dec 9, 1861, Ambrose Doss of the 19th Alabama writes that he saw a brother in law of a neighbor who is in the 22nd Alabama. The letter was written from camp near Mobile on the Dog River. At that time the 19th AL had no weapons but was apparently vic of the 22nd Alabama.

On Jan 2, 1862 Doss again writes his wife, this time indicating that the 19th AL finally has their rifles and one barrel of cartridges. Additionally, he indicates that there is "one other Regiment at this place" Could this be the 22nd? And could the 22nd have received their rifles at the same time?

Mere speculation at this point, but I thought it may help.
