Thanks for posting this information on the 12th Al Cav., do you have anymore. I had a g.g.grandfather and his brother who served with this unit any information is welcome. I have been searching for years, I can't believe how under documented this unit is? Also was the 12th still with the 1st Alabama Cav. when they were requested by Gen. Lee? And why were they not sent to Virginia, I would imagine this would have been considered any honor, was an explanation ever given?
