I recently got the file of Marcellus Pointer re his 1898 application for brigadier under Wheeler in Cuba. Some of the records they sent me were typed up versions of documents relating to the 12th Alabama Cavalry and its organization. Two or three of Warren Reese's exploits are also mentioned.
