His record states that he died at Camp Preston near Tupelo, Miss. on the 21st day of June 1862. He probably died from sickness if at Camp, and was buried near the Camp. Try the Mississippi board for more information on Camp Preston and its location. He enlisted just months prior on March 20, 1862 at Huntsville, Madison County Ala., 33 yrs of age, six feet high, fair complexion, gray eyes, dark hair, and by occupation a farmer. There is hand written letter in his record, but the copy I'm looking at, I can't read.
