Why not use the regimental history which appeared in the Alabama Historical Quarterly? It's based on the journal of Capt. Samuel Camp Kelly of Company "E".
AHQ (Vol. 9, No. 1), Spring 1947, "A History of the Thirtieth Alabama Volunteers (Infantry), Confederate States Army", William Milner Kelly, pp. 115 - 167.

AHQ is available on-line at the ADAH. The section about the regiment during the period you mentioned begins on page 151.

Since regimental or brigade reports from the East Tennessee and Kentucky Campaigns are lacking, most people skim over 1862. That period is covered in this article.
