From April 15th up until he left to go home, Forrest and most of his command camped around Gainesville AL.

Following the battle at Selma Forrest collected his command at Marion AL, although he went to Cahaba to meet with General Wilson on April 8th. Since his command had been fragmented during the campaign, after the battle of April 2nd Forrest's men operated in several different groups.
