Before heading to northern Virginia to join the 6th Alabama in the fall of 1862, two of my Henry County ancestors were sent to the camp of instruction at Camp Watts. My two questions are as follows : (1) would they likely have received uniforms (or part of uniforms) and weapons at Camp Watts or would they have been outfitted when they reached the regiment ? (2) If they did receive clothing and weapons , are there any accounts of what clothing and weapons the men would have received around this time of the war at Camp Watts ?
