This family may have lived near Sterrett in Shelby County AL. The company was recruited around Cedar Grove, present-day Leeds AL. May families lived along Cahaba Valley Road, present-day Hwy 119 in Shelby and St. Clair Counties.

Fleet appears on the 1860 census as Heaton, born about 1845. Apparently the manuscript census was a copy of field notes that may have been difficult to read. This young man was assigned to the hospital at Auburn AL during the fall and winter of 1864-65.
