Do any of y'all know about the Crane's battery contribution to Dent's? Most of the references I saw were enlisted in Dent's Batt. at Memphis, but one or more was added in New Orl., one in Atlanta, and I believe, one at Chattanooga. One of the things I've seen with the cavalry at Chickamauga are units called "Confederate," though certain states actually try to claim them -because of original companies and other such political stuff- even though other states had more men/companies in the regiment. But isn't that what we'd expect from people warring over state's rights? Joe
