Thank you for the reply. Not trying to argue here, but in the CWS&S, he is ID'd in the 7th Miss Cav. and the 7th Miss. Inf., Co. C both units. I know the 7th Miss. camped in Northern Alabama for a period of time. I suppose he could have joined then. I believe the transcriber could not figure out wich unit to put him in and may have put him in both. Hadskey's information is supposed to have came from the CSR's.
Do you have a Broadfoots listing for him?
I did a search on my Confederate deaths in Union prisons CD. He is not listed as dying in prison.
Can you direct me to a good site where I may research the 1850-60 Alabama census?
Any information you can offer to help correctly ID this man is greatly appreciated.
