Scotty,

I believe that had to do with a portion of
Clanton's Brigade while stationed at Pollard,
Ala; one company of mutineers were placed in
chains and taken to Mobile; have no idea as
to the outcome; and yes there were desertions
brought on by members of a so called "Peace
Movement" who were active in the camp during
late 1863; take a look at "Word From Camp
