Henry SealeV. WilloughbyTue Nov 14 18:52:15 2000 I checked my copy of Broadfoot's Roster of Confederate Soldiers (on CD listing all C.S. Soldiers that the National Archives has listings for--not neccessarily a complete listing of all C.S. soldiers)and I found no listing for Volney Fleming Willoughby as such, but I did discover a Corporal V. Willoughby of Company B 4TH Tennessee Infantry Regiment. This very well may be your man. I have no records for the 18TH Alabama BN, but I do have a reference book that lists most all Confederate Army units with a very brief history of the units listed. I have found numerous mistakes in it, but it is mostly accurate. I would confirm any information from it before I accepted it as "gospel." The refernce book I use is "Units of The Confederate States Army" by Joseph H. Crute, Jr.Let me know if I can be of more help.
