Hayes LoweMeridianSat Nov 11 07:37:21 2000 Here is what I have written about Lumsden's Battery, for my book, regarding what happened to the battery at the end of the war. It doesn't answer your question directly, but I think that it may apply to Phelan's Artillery, as well."It [Lumsden's Battery] was then assigned to man the placement guns at Spanish Fort in Mobile. When the fort fell to the Union troops [in April 1865], the battery was evacuated from there to Meridian, Miss. by train. The Battery was surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865, however, it appears that the Battery was actually physically located at Marion Station, Miss. Total known losses for the Battery during the war were 11 killed, 25 wounded, and 25 captured. The numbers are actually higher."Meridian Charles Savage, Mon Nov 13 06:58 Meridian Hayes Lowe, Tue Nov 14 16:39 Meridian paroles.
