My Dad has been to the Savage Cemetery. According to land grants and deeds, I believe Wiley was a brother to James W.
I've seen the Tuscaloosa Co Census and recognize the names.
There's quite a bit of info in the Tusc Co library that my
brother has retrieved relative to land homesteaded in Mt Olive. James W.'s dad was Morris W. who homesteaded land in Walker Co just south of Oakman. He moved family on to Mt Home, AR after the war. James W. moved away about 1 yr and returned and remained until his death. Haven't been able to locate any info on a POW Camp at Meridian though. Did find some info about Phelan's Artillery unit though. I can provide another day if you'd like. Thanks for your info.
