Don't overlook "Unfiled Papers and Slips"

A couple of weeks ago, I finally had an opportunity to look throught the many rolls of microfilm called "Unfiled Confederate Papers and Slips". Incredible! Do not overlook this source when researching a Confederate soldier! Everything is alphabetical by last name, so it is easy to find an individual (impossible to find much about regiments, though, with this alphabetical system).

I searched on five soldiers' names. Only found one, but that one had *many* pages of information. It really filled in the blanks.

From what I saw, Privates might have one or two "cards" of additional information in the film. Officers sometimes had two or three dozen additional cards of information.
