From the Infantry Regiments portion of the Military Annals of Tennessee, the following are units are identified as containing Alabama men and/or organizations:

42nd TN Inf.

Five (5) companies from Alabama. This unit surrendered at Ft. Donelson, upon exchange at Vicksburg, Sept '62, the Alabama companies were "sent to other Alabama companies" and were replace by five (5) Tennessee companies.

50th TN Inf.

Co. "C" is identified as an Alabama Company and appears to have remained in this unit until the end of the war.
