Hi John,

I saw your post. I am doing some research on my Great Grandfather, Alexander Williamson Jones, who owned the following railroad. I was wondering if you had any additional information. All the information I have is from a Biography that was dated 1888.

8'12/1878 he purchased the Selma, Marion & Memphis Railroad. Soon after the purchase a new railroad corporation was formed, under the name of Selma & Greensboro Railroad Company of which A. W. Jones was elected President.

Then he owned the Cincinnati, Selma & Mobile Railway. Then be bought the new Orleans & Selma Railroad. The new name became Birmingham, Selma & New Orleans Railway Company, with A. W. Jones as President.
