Judy WillsReturn of remainsSat Oct 28 22:11:36 2000 Lots of people think that return of remains after a battlewas not possible, but it's been done for centuries. In themiddle ages, they packed the body in charcoal in an air-tight coffin. There was a queen of Spain who paraded aroundwith her husband's body for a year or so.I've seen ads in newspapers of the WBTS period for "glass-topped coffins suitable for parlor viewing". Confederatesoldiers escorting a body were paid 25 cents per day.....hey that's better than the extra pay for being a nurse or railroad guard.Judy Wills
