Dear Cyntia,

I understand your frustation. Just recently, it took me over two months to receive a service record I requested "online" from the AL Dept. of Archives and History. Unfortunately, they generally do a better job than the National Archives, believe it or not.

Why don't you post a message asking if someone on the message board will be visiting the Alabama Archives and ask if they might attempt to lookup the information for your ancestor.

I did a quick search of J.M. Corley in Broadfoot's Roster of Confederate Soldiers and found the following:

Corley J.M. AL 4th Res. Co.F/C
