My GG Grandfather, Abel Robinson Powell, enlisted in 1862. Born in Putnam County, Georgia (1828), he resided in Beulah, Chambers Co., AL; this area was later part of the newly formed Lee Co., AL.
Would like to see postings by anyone who has info on this unit. Their unit took on pretty heavy casualties, from what I have read in the past. Gutsy bunch of guys!
