Thank you so much for making this understandable to me,
we are trying to unravel a 143 year old mystery,we
heard the story of why he served both sides and are trying to verify the possibility of the family story being true that he and his brothers James Monroe and Russell switched sides because a group of the CSA killed their cousin Thomas Battles because he didn't
want to fight for either side.
Could I be a bother and ask you were I can obtain a
copy of the roster you got this from? I would like to
have verification from another source to complement my
