Co. F was formed by Capt. Neri Tucker of Russell Co. at Opelika . The Co. was incorporated into the 45th Alabama Infantry, Army of Mississippi( subsequently The Army of Tennessee) on April 5, 1862. Capt. Tucker resigned on Feb 5th, 1863 and J.M. Crockett assumed command. Other officers in the Co. were: A.F.Rogers, 1st Lt.; Silas T. Moore, 2nd Lt.; Thomas J.Key, 1st Lt.; James M. Perry, Capt.( resigned Nov. 23, 1863); and Thonas E. Collier, 2nd Lt.
