Does anyone have any information on what the 4th Ala Calvary (Russel's) may have been up to on March 17, 1863? My GG grandfather, John Alexander Sims was reported KIA on that date. He enlisted with the 4th. in Guntersville Ala. on or about Sept 1st, 1862. No information about his place of death or burial, (if any), has been found. So if I can't find any records of his death, maybe the thing to do is see what his unit was doing. It appears he may have been wounded on the 4th or 5th of March at Thompson's Station and died later on the 17th. Any help you can furnish will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
