Dr.T.A.WheatSeven Days BattlesSat Oct 14 10:03:38 2000 The Seven Days Battles were a series of engagements to the NE and E of Richmond, so named because they occurred over a period of 7 days ending on 1 July 1862. In order they are Ellison"s Mill, Gaines Mill, Savage Station, White Oak Swamp, Glendale and Malvern Hill. The Confederate casualties from these battles were taken directly into Richmond and were most likely interred in Hollywood Cemetary although there were other cemetaries for some of the large hospitals such as Chimborazo. Also during the war, relatives would sometimes arrive after the battle and take the body of a loved one back to his hometown for burial.
