I cannot find anyone of that name who enlisted in the Confederacy as a chaplain (checked several spellings), but there is a possible source at your local library, _Chaplains in Gray: the Confederate chaplains' story_ by Charles F. Pitts, published in Nashville in 1957. Might or might not have him, but worth a look.
