Fred do you know of a specific sources that mention this battalion commanded by Blackford had 4 companies? I am looking for specifics for this particualr battalion. I have been doing extensive research into the sharpshooter corps of the ANV and the number of companies varries from two to five. I need some firm documents for this battalion. I've located a diary already and am trying to obtain a copy. The Blackford family papers are in the UNC library manuscript department.
