Dear Alan,
I would very much like to read your paper on Cobb. I am fascinated by the civil as well as the military side of the late unpleasantness. Being raised in a small town (Leeds) I can well realte to your Granny. Several local families suffered a modicum of disrepute due to GGGranddad having had unionst tendencies or having riden with the 1st Ala. Cav. (U.S.).
When I worked at B.E. & K., the secretary of our group was from Montevallo and had relatives who were murdered by "The Blackwells". She wasn't sure why they were executed. From what I have gleaned it did not take much of an excuse to be strung up. Thanks.
Paul
