I found them!!!!! I called Bob Davis of Wallace State College at Hanceville to ask if he had ever heard of M 347
and he said, "Of course, we've got them". All 442 rolls!!
Not only that, but he has the Union Provost Marshall's
Papers too.

The Provost Marshall's Papers are of importance because they
were sure that after we lost the War there would be mass
hangings and trial for treason, so they accumulated information on everybody who ever whistled "Dixie".

Bob's also ordered a bunch of other microfilm and Wallace
State already had the largest collection of Confederate
related material in the Southeast.

I got so excited that I forgot to ask about the deceased
soldiers' claims and the special orders.
