If I do find out I will be happy to let you know. I know that there is still a lot of stuff in DC that has never
been touched. Also there are supposedly 15,000 lb. of paper
at the Univ. of TX from the Confederate Surgeon General's
Dept.
Bob Davis of Wallace State at Hanceville has the largest
collection of Confederate related microfilm in the Southeast. I'll see if he has what I want.
I'm interested in the Special Claim because the man in
question was a Hospital Steward in VA and when he filed for
a Confederate Pension from AL he said that he had been in
the 6th and 16th GA Cavalries. They had no record of him,
so he got his Sgt. to sign an affidavit for him, but his Sgt. was also his brother-in-law. I'll bet there were a lot
of lies told to get those pensions.
