I have found a pension application image for my ancestor Joseph C. Doyal and the above information is given for hus unit. What I don't know is if it is Confederate or Union. The area where he was from had strong Union support, but his brother and others fought for the South. Can you set me straight. There was nothing on the image I pulled up to indicate which side. He filed his pension application in TX and he is not on CSA pension rolls in Texas. Thanks.
