Rgt died Aug 3, 1863 in Academy Hospital at
Atlanta; wife H. Montgomery filed claim for
effects of the deceased Apr 29, 1864; I find
no others of the line in Co I; although there
appears to be no other record of his enlistment,
the Rgtl History of the 45th shows a John W.
Montgomery enlisted Mar 1, 1862 at Tuskeege
as Pvt Co H, 45th Ala Inf; I checked the
Cemetery listing for Oakland Confederate
Cemetery in Atlanta and if Marcus is buried
there, his grave is not marked.
