3rd Alabama casualty list -- Seven Days Battles

Last week I had time to transcribe one of many casualty lists from the Mobile Advertiser and Register. Print is very small, and all these names should be verified against CSA service records as well as the casualty list on microfilm in the Narrative Reports of the Seven Days. Each list will be a little different.

Some of the names appear to be based on phonetic spelling ("Cocks" instead of "Cox"), which may be the result of the list being dictated. Obviously it was composed in a hurry -- note the simple arithmetic errors in the company lists. Also, there are small variances in some companies which seem to indicate that there were different sources of information for each company. Again, just speculation.
