Hi,
I know this is a Civil War site but can anyone tell me if there is a message board anywhere concerning the Indian Wars? My 3rd gr-grandfather John Bayliss Hays served in Indian Wars listed on tombstone at Hays Cemetery in Blount County, Alabama, is
Soldier, Pvt 4 ALA Vol's Indian Wars
I have been trying to find some information on this, but have not found a lot.
He was born in 1810 so I know he could have only participated in one of these three:
Alabama Creek War 1836--37
Cherokee Removal 1838
Florida War 1836--38
