Here's a start. These are the units with companies from Dallas County which were organized near those dates. Remember that recruitment would have occurred before organization.

1st AL Arty Battalion - organized about the 1st of February 1861, at Fort Morgan.

3d AL Cav Regiment, Cos. D, F, I and K - formed from Murphy's Bn. and other units, so more research would be necessary to determine organization dates for the predecessors.

4th AL Inf Regiment, Cos. A and C - organized at Dalton, Georgia on 2 May 1861 [Brady not found on the rolls of these companies to which I have access.]

5th AL Inf Regiment, Cos. A and new F - organized at Montgomery, 5 May 1861

7th AL Inf Regiment - organized at Pensacola, 18 May 1861. Disbanded April 1862 and some units joined the 3rd Cav. (see above).

8th AL Inf Regiment, Co. D - organized on 10 June 1861 [Brady not found on the rolls for this unit that I to which I have access.]

Jeff Davis Artillery - organized in May 1861 at Selma
